For many years now efforts have been made to restore the area to its former glory and its just booming with renovated businesses and the local arts scene. Come check out the area while engulfing your child in the literary arts.
Shade Publishing will be presenting four authors for your child's delight and amusement. Jackie Jones author of teenage romance "In Rehab" is a native of Calvert County Maryland however has relocated to Columbus, Oh and is spreading her dream of creating literary diversity across the nation. "In Rehab" is the tale of two teenagers who have to over come physical obstacles with determination and courage they triumph to reveal a surprise ending.
"Jade Gets A Drink" by Mary "Midge" Miller-Hall is an enthralling story that teaches as it entertains. Midge was born to two deaf parents and has been using American Sign Language since she was a child. She wrote "Jade Gets A Drink" as a way to give back to her community and to help children learn simple yet necessary words in spoken English and ASL.
The powerful poem in the pages of "The Feather Y La Luna" came to Nick Wolak in a dream. He woke up furiously wrote the poem down....and then did nothing with it for several years. Finally he decided to share his gift with world and are we glad that he did! Collaborating on the project with Andy Ringo they've created a wonderful poem about one child's connection with nature on a fateful magical night. Let Nick and Andy conjure a mystical place where you and your child can get lost, "The Feather Y La Luna" is bound to be a favorite amongst everyone in your family.
The last author is Thomastina Bradly who can frequently be found traveling around the country creating breathtaking works of art by commission. Thomastina has created a wonderful story in "Baby Bird Gets New Legs". Its the heartwarming tale of how a community of loveable creatures band together to help a wee chick over come adversity. Discover with your child the story of a brave little bird and the accomplishments that can happen when everyone puts their hearts and efforts into a single project.
